Waynesboro teen crafts prom dress out of Duct Tape
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - A Waynesboro teen recently entered a national scholarship competition by making a prom dress and handbag entirely out of colorful Duck brand tape. Celeste Sotelo, a high schooler out of the city of Waynesboro, wanted a way to celebrate her Mexican American roots and her dad’s connection to Jalisco, Mexico. An avid fan of fashion design and considering it as a career, Sotelo’s dad brought up the Stuck at Prom scholarship contest created by the Duck brand as an opportunity for her to showcase her culture and talent on a national stage and win scholarship money in the process.
