2024 Wyoming Coaches Foundation All-Star Rosters Updated for Saturday
The 2024 “Wyoming Coaches Foundation North-South All-Star Games” are on Saturday, July 20, in Casper at T-Bird gym at Casper College. The volleyball match starts at 1 p.m., followed by the girls’ basketball game at approximately 3 p.m. and the boys’ basketball game at approximately 5 p.m.
Majors’ season ends at district tournament
The South Big Horn Little League All-Stars didn’t get the storybook ending they were seeking at last week’s District 1 Majors Tournament in Bridger Valley. A first-time qualifier, the club was unable to overcome nerves and inconsistent fielding, losing to the Lander Valley All-Stars 18-1 on Thursday and to the Powell All-Stars 16-6 on Friday.
SCSD#1 Receives CTE Grant
During their regular meeting on Wednesday, July 17, the SCSD#1 Board of Trustees held a short budget hearing for the 2024-2025 budget, presented by Jeremy Smith, Business Manager. ALAMOSA – The National High School Finals Rodeo’s seventh performance was completed on Thursday morning at the Sweetwater Events Center in Rock Springs, Wyo. Klayt Staudt of Saguache finished his performances in boys cutting on Wednesday. In his first performance on Wednesday morning, he compiled a score of 137 points which was 45th in the first go-round. In his second run, he scored 130 points which was 24th in the go as of Thursday morning. His total score of 267 points is 20th overall as of Thursday morning.
Cheyenne Frontier Days Unveils Plans For New American Indian Village
Cheyenne Frontier Days Officials unveiled plans for the new Morningstar American Indian Village on Friday. The new village is slated to open in 2026 near the CFD Old West Museum. Renee Middleton, Executive Director of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Foundation, told Townsquare Media the goal is to have the new facility open in time for Frontier Days 2026, which will be the Year of the Native American at CFD. Middleton said the new facility is made possible in large part by a grant from the Hughes Foundation. She added that Frontier Days officials will raise additional money for the village's educational component. Middleton said the total final cost of the village is "still up in the air right now. But I can tell you right now it's already over $10 million."

Remembering Todd Kidd: A Hero From Casper With a Lasting Legacy

CWC Budget Adopted; Pay Raises Approved; Enrollment Up Again
The Central Wyoming College Board of Trustees Wednesday night approved the college’s Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget of $49,056,343. Vice President for Administration Willie Noseep said the budget is up by 17.8%, with the increase due to the construction of a new Jackson campus building and the increase of Wyoming PBS funding.
Atlas Theatre receives DDA grant to infill purposeless windows
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Historic Atlas Theatre has received a grant to remove windows that “no longer serve a purpose.”. On Thursday, the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority approved a Capital Improvement Grant for the Friends of the Atlas Board at its regular monthly meeting. The theater board requested a 50% match from the DDA for masonry work on the Atlas Theatre’s south side, according to a DDA staff report. The total cost of repairs is $8,800. The development authority awarded the Atlas board $4,400.
