Chase Talich of Central Joins Gillette College for Basketball
Chase Talich rose to the occasion in his senior season in basketball at Cheyenne Central and that effort turned into an opportunity to play for Gillette College in 2024-25. Talich was a big factor in Central's run to the 4A State Championship in 2023-24 and was phenomenal in the State Tournament. He poured in 18 points in the championship game vs. Laramie, 13 in the semi-finals vs. Natrona, and a whopping 27 points on 11-15 shooting in the first round vs. Riverton.
Rain possible throughout weekend in Cheyenne
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne area may see rainfall intermittently throughout the weekend, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service in Cheyenne. Today, the area will see a 30% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Meanwhile, the NWS in Cheyenne predicts a high temperature near 84 degrees as south winds move through the area at 5–15 mph.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Health has issued a warning about rising blue-green algal blooms in Sloan Lake, which is used for recreational and irrigation purposes, not for Cheyenne’s drinking water supply. The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities will monitor water quality and provide necessary treatment to address any algal blooms, according to a press release by the board.
