The man found guilty of the death of Landry Anglin, a 13-year-old girl, has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of pardon, parole or reduction of sentence on July 16.

District Judge Ramona Emanuel sentenced Kenmiccael Dano Ray, 25, following a sentencing hearing Caddo District Court. During this court hearing Anglin's parents both gave emotional victim impact statements.

On May 1, 2022, Anglin, was shot while inside her home. Anglin, an eighth grader, at the time was sitting with her family when a stray bullet struck her.

In prior reporting Chief Wayne Smith said that day two vehicles appeared to be chasing each other down Erie Street, during that chase they began shooting. One of the stray bullets traveled west and struck the home hitting Anglin who was inside the residence.

The shooting occurred just a little before 2:30 p.m. When first responders made it to her home on Fairfield Avenue, they found the teen unresponsive with a gunshot wound to her back.

Anglin was rushed to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.

During Ray's trial evidence was produced that proved that he was affiliated with a gang in Shreveport, and videos evidence showed that he fired an assault rifle at a vehicle following him on Erie Street between Thornhill and Line Avenue.

Following the shooting Ray fled to Arlington, Texas and was apprehended five days later.

Gavontay Johnson, Tramaine Taylor, and Deanthony Johnson are awaiting trail and are considered codefendants in this case.
