A downtown restaurant has temporarily closed.

On Aug. 24, Pop N Pizza owner Brittani Shabazz went on a live on Facebook to make the announcement that the pizzeria would be temporarily closed.

"We have temporarily closed Pop N Pizza," said Shabazz. "It had just gotten to a point where we didn't have a choice. We had to shut down. We got a little behind on some things and it was one of those things we didn't have a choice."

She continued by saying that it is okay because this time will allow them to plan out the future for Pop N Pizza.

"Y'all don't cry for us because we are alright," said Shabazz. "God just showed me this is what we are supposed to be doing."

During its closure Shabazz will be hosting a pop-up shop at Pop N Pizza. "I love our pizza but just imagine how good it will be when we open back up."

This closure will allow them to try new recipes.

Pop N Pizza has been open for five years, first on Kings Highway then, in 2022, Pop N Pizza moved to downtown Shreveport, where they have been located on the corner of Texas Street and Marshall Street.

"We've done this for five years," said Shabazz. "We are coming back."
