After a rockslide interrupted regular routes earlier this month, The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is set to resume regular operations on Friday, June 28.

"D&SNGRR thanks all our guests for their continued support,” said Jeff Johnson, Vice President and General Manager, D&SNGRR. “We’re especially grateful for our fantastic maintenance crews, operations and reservations staff who worked tirelessly to restore service to Silverton.”

Service was interrupted by the rockslide for six days, according to the company that operates the railroad.

Generally, the railroad runs three trips from Durango to Silverton daily during the summer, along with shorter trips to Cascade Canyon.

The route to Silverton is known as one of the most scenic railway routes in the American West, traveling through forests alongside cliffs and a river.
