The Texas state 7-on-7 football tournament returns this week in College Station , and three teams will represent the Coastal Bend after qualifying this summer.
Miller, Beeville and Sinton earned their way into the bracket through top finishes in state qualifying tournaments.
Miller will compete in Division I with other Class 6A, Class 5A and large private schools. Beeville and Sinton are in the Division II bracket with Class 4A and Class 3A Division I-sized schools.
Here is what you need to know as the tournament begins on Thursday.
What is 7-on-7 football?
The game is reminiscent of flag football with two teams of seven players on a 45-yard field competing against each other. It heavily favors the passing game, no rushing of the quarterback is allowed, although the ball must be released within four seconds of the snap.
The game is two continuous 15-minute halves without stoppage.
Where will it be contested?
The state tournament is held at dozens of fields at Veterans Park in College Station.

How do you qualify?
In order to participate in the 7-on-7 tournament, teams have to earn spots at regional state qualifying tournaments that begin in May.
What is the state tournament format?
In Division I 16 pools of four teams will compete, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the single-elimination championship bracket and bottom two qualifying for the consolation bracket.
In Division II and Division III, eight pools of four teams will compete. All teams will advance to a single-elimination championship bracket and opening day play is for seeding purposes.
Miller
Miller qualified for the third straight season and was slotted in Pool D in Division I alongside Anna, Katy Cinco Ranch and Lewisville.
Sinton
Sinton is in Pool D in Division II, grouped with Lumberton, Ponder and Waco Robinson.
Beeville
Beeville is in Pool E in Division II which includes Lorena, Mineral Wells and Needville.
