SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — One of the main River-Cade events of the season enjoyed some perfect weather Wednesday evening.

It was the annual River-Cade Parade. After the route was finished, there was an ice cream social in downtown Sioux City at the Long Lines Family Rec Center parking lot.

In addition to dozens of floats and tons of candy thrown out into the crowd, Wednesday night also featured the “Smile Contest” finals.

This was the 61st year of the River-Cade Parade. Later in the week, River-Cade will crown a new Queen of the River and two princesses on Saturday.
