SF East dominates Harrisburg Maroon, advances to state

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Sioux Falls East secured its spot in the Class ‘A’ Legion state tournament with an 11-0 shutout win over Harrisburg Maroon in the KELOLAND Livestream Game of the Week at Harmodon Park Friday evening.

Leading 1-0 in the fourth, East blew the game open with a six-run rally in the fourth. Brayden Olson and Dylan Rippentrop smacked back-to-back two run doubles in the inning.

Post 15 added four more in the sixth inning.

Tate Schafer went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Kasen Christiansen tossed five scoreless innings and allowed just three hits as he picked up the win.

Sioux Falls East moves onto the state tournament as the No. 4 seed and opens the tournament against Watertown Tuesday at 10 a.m.
