The Slater School District Board of Education approved a motion to allow sixth grade students to participate in all Junior High sports and activities during its meeting on Tuesday, June 25.

Last year, the board approved select sixth grade participation in Junior High activities, but Superintendent Terry Lorenz said the board looked into it some more and decided it was best to allow all participation for sixth grade students.

The board also hired new members to their teaching and coaching staffs during a closed session.

Lorenz also reported that there was no update from the Four Day School Week committee, but he expects there to be one at the July board meeting.
