PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A Pitt County man is behind bars after being charged with child sex crimes stemming from 2023. The Pitt County jail records show 34-year-old Matthew Mills, of Grimesland, was arrested Sunday by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office for a crime on December 1st, 2023.

Parking Violation leads to arrest
KPD officers were called to 2407 N Herritage Street regarding a vehicle parked in a fire lane with the keys locked inside. Upon arrival, officers began addressing multiple fire lane violations. During this time, Marilyn Fields (66 of Kinston) attempted to drive away from the fire lane. Officers stopped Fields and attempted to address the violation, but she refused to comply with the investigation. Fields continued to resist officers and was eventually taken into custody. She was cited for the fire lane parking violation and arrested for resisting a public officer. Fields was released on an unsecured bond.
Three more arrested surrounding armed robbery in Greenville
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Three more people have been arrested surrounding an armed robbery late last month. The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says that on Wednesday deputies arrested Tyion Harrell, 18, and Cameron Thams, 18, both of Winterville. On Thursday, deputies said they arrested Dantaivon Waller, 20, also of Winterville.
