Circle K trespasser charged with hate crime after insulting deputy
A Leesburg man who was arrested for trespassing at a Circle K was also charged with a hate crime for threatening a black deputy. A deputy was dispatched to Circle K, located at 2211 Citrus Boulevard in Leesburg, regarding a trespasser around 12:36 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to his arrival, the LCSO Communications Center received a call from the Circle K manager who advised that 52-year-old Joseph Scott Armagost was at the store, from which he was previously trespassed.

Leesburg man charged with battering his mother and mother of his children
A Leesburg man has been arrested on a warrant charging him with battering his mother and the mother of his children. On May 24, a female victim tried to de-escalate a verbal altercation between her son, 44-year-old Matthew Parrish, and the second female victim, the mother of Parrish’s child, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County. The second victim was inside the residence she and Parrish shared gathering some of her belongings to leave for a while because Parrish was taking narcotics.
