What's that being built next to Tekila Modern Mexican in Southaven's Silo Square?

A Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is under construction in Southaven, a first for DeSoto County.

The steakhouse will be located at 6283 Getwell Road, just south of Tekila Modern Mexican and directly across from the BankPlus Amphitheater. It is anticipated to open in the fall.

Firebirds is part of the Silo Square development in Southaven's Snowden District. Brian Hill, lead developer of Silo Square, said the location is a resale lot that was originally going to become a different restaurant, before the buyers sold it to Firebirds.

Firebirds is a national steakhouse chain with 61 locations across the country. The Memphis area has two locations — one in Bartlett at 8470 U.S. 64 and another in Collierville at 4600 Merchants Park Circle.

All Firebirds locations are company-owned and have uniform menus, so diners at the Southaven restaurant can expect similar offerings to the Shelby County locations. Some of the chain's primary offerings include the usual cuts of steak like ribeye and New York Strip. The seafood menu is popular as well, from salmon to bass and shrimp pasta. There are also pasta, burger and salad options.

Every Firebirds location also includes a bar, which serves five classic cocktails year-round and even more seasonal cocktails and mocktails.
