Want to see Texas Rangers' World Series trophy? Spartanburgers to host public celebration

The Hub City Spartanburgers have a special event for Upstate fans of the Texas Rangers next month.

The Texan team’s High-A South Carolina affiliate will have its turn to hold the 2023 Texas Rangers World Series Trophy on Sept. 8.

Fans can take a photo of or with the World Series trophy during a free event at Rockers Brewing Company from 3-4 p.m. that Sunday during the new team’s fourth public celebration in downtown Spartanburg.

The Spartanburgers will also host a private VIP event for partners and season ticket members earlier in the day at the AC Hotel. Season ticket sales are ongoing through the team’s website .

More properly known as The Commissioner's Trophy, the prize was created in 1967 and first awarded to the St. Louis Cardinals, according to mlb.com . The version of the trophy that will be on display in Spartanburg was created by Tiffany & Co. in 2000 and is made of sterling silver.

The Rangers won the World Series playing against the Arizona Diamondbacks last year on Nov. 1.

The team has held events in the past year for its stadium groundbreaking and team store opening, but its largest event so far has been the team name announcement, held in May , where thousands of fans gathered on Daniel Morgan Avenue for a street party and fireworks.

The team is slated to have its first home game on April 15 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
