Explosions during garage fire at North Spokane home

SPOKANE, Wash. -- A large fire broke out at a home in North Spokane on Thursday afternoon, according to Spokane Fire Department.

On July 18, crews responded to a reported house fire near Marjorie Court and Stephanie Street.

When crews arrived, they found the fire burning in the home's garage. The fire did not spread to the rest of the house, but did cause smoke damage to the main part of the home.

SFD said ammunition that was in the garage during the fire exploded and that shell casings were found all the way down the block.

A propane tank stored in the garage also exploded during the fire.

By 6:30 p.m., the flames were out and crews were in "mop-up mode."

    No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
