HAUGEN — Česká Opera House in Haugen (320 W. Third St.) is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day concert with the TrueGrass Trio and special guest Carol McDowall. It is at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17. Seats may be reserved by calling 715.234.7458.

Regular attendees of Opera House events are asked to note the non-standard time and day of the event.

The Česká Opera House is a historic performance and event venue operated by the Česká Opera Foundation, a nonprofit preserving the history and heritage of Haugen and the surrounding area. Snacks and beverages will be available.

The TrueGrass Trio specializes in reviving music of the old-time masters, adapting modern material to the bluegrass idiom and creating original songs and new tunes in the traditional string band style. The Trio will be donning their green and polishing up their Irish credentials to get ready for a fun afternoon of music in Haugen.

Band members are Tom Draughon of Ashland on guitar and old-time banjo; Bruce Qualey of Cable on bass; Jed Malischke of Spooner on bluegrass banjo, guitar and resophonic guitar; and the newest member of the now-four-piece “trio,” Carol McDowall of Trego on fiddle. Check them out at www.TrueGrassTrio.com or follow them at www.facebook.com/truegrassband.

Reservations are not required but encouraged. Those reserving are asked to appear by 1:45 p.m. Further events and happenings of Česká Opera House may be viewed on their Facebook page.
