The Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Houston Texans on Friday night and fans got their first look at quarterback Justin Fields. It wasn’t much of one despite Fields being the starter. The bulk of the snaps went to third-string quarterback Kyle Allen who actually played really well.

Next week, when the Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills, fans will finally get to see Russell Wilson in a Steelers uniform in live action. This is according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Tomlin addressed the media after Friday’s loss and when asked said he anticipates Wilson playing against the Bills.

The Steelers signed Wilson in the offseason away from the Denver Broncos in hopes of getting the Pittsburgh offense back on track. Wilson’s debut has been on hold after he suffered a calf strain while working out.

This injury gave Fields a great opportunity to gain some ground on Wilson in this quarterback battle. We hope to see a split between Fields and Wilson this week against the Bills and both guys get a fairly heavy workload to see how they operate in the new Arthur Smith offense.
