Barcelona wrap up their preseason campaign against AS Monaco today with Dani Olmo set for his club debut.

La Blaugrana host the French side in their annual campaign curtain-raiser at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys with Spain star Olmo ready for action.

Ahead of the 2023/24 La Liga season, Barcelona completed a major transfer swoop to bring Olmo back to the club in a €60m ($65m) move from RB Leipzig.

The 26-year-old has been eased into preseason training in recent days, following an extended summer break, after playing a key role in Spain's Euro 2024 triumph.

His quick adaptation has impressed head coach Hansi Flick and the former Bayern Munich boss is ready to give him some game time against AS Monaco.

However, with Flick still looking to manage squad returns, following a busy summer of international action, Olmo will likely start on the bench.

Reports from Spanish outlet Marca claim he will be held in reserve until the second half with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen captaining Barcelona following the exit of club skipper Sergi Roberto.

Flick has enjoyed a positive first few months in charge at Barcelona with a USA summer tour offering him a chance to test his squad.

Wins over Manchester City and El Clasico rivals Real Madrid were the standout stories from their trip across the Atlantic with striker Pau Victor catching the eye via goals in both of those games.

Following the clash with AS Monaco, Barcelona kickoff their La Liga campaign away at Valencia on August 17, before the UEFA Champions League league phase starts on September 17.
