The Boston Red Sox are set to take on the Texas Rangers in a three-game series at Fenway Park starting on Monday, but before first pitch, they announced eight roster moves.

Boston has reinstated starting pitcher Brayan Bello from the Paternity Leave list, and he will get the start on Monday.

The Red Sox also recalled left-handed reliever Bailey Horn from Triple-A and selected right-handed pitcher Chase Shugart and infielder Mickey Gasper from Worcester.

Horn has appeared in nine games for Boston so far this year, posting a 6.39 ERA and a 1.658 WHIP in 12 2/3 innings of work. Shugart has yet to debut in the MLB, but he's recorded a 6.49 ERA and a 1.617 WHIP in 88 games at Triple-A over the last three seasons. Gasper also hasn't reached the majors yet. The 28-year-old has hit .402 with a 1.179 OPS, eight home runs and 32 RBIs in 40 games with Worcester.

On top of those moves, the Red Sox placed left-handed starter James Paxton on the 15-day injured list with a right calf strain, optioned left-handed reliever Brennan Bernardino and right-handed reliever Brad Keller to Triple-A and designated infielder Jamie Westbrook for assignment.

Paxton suffered his injury early in Sunday's game forcing him to leave before completing an inning. Since being acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers , he's made three starts and allowed eight runs (five earned) on 13 hits and two walks over 11 innings.

Bernardino has really struggled recently, posting a 3.83 ERA (4.13 FIP) and a 1.425 WHIP in 43 appearances, but he's been horrible after the All-Star break. Keller hasn't been any better, recording a 5.66 ERA (4.58 FIP) and a 1.500 WHIP in 20 2/3 innings over 10 outings with Boston this year.

Westbrook has been just as poor for the Red Sox this year at the plate, hitting an abysmal .150 with a .584 OPS, two home runs and seven RBIs.
