Chiefs undrafted rookie who owns an alligator getting more attention after impressive debut

The Kansas City Chiefs are obviously full of stars - you don't win consecutive Super Bowls without a plethora of talent.

However, a lot of focus has been on undrafted rookie running back Carson Steele over the last handful of days.

The undrafted rookie had a nice performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in his first taste of NFL action, totaling 29 yards and a touchdown on four carries. His performance has earned him more reps with the first and second team units, and also garnered audible praise from offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

"What I like about him is, right now, he's doing a lot of good things and being in the right spot at the right time," Nagy said. "And you can trust him."

Steele had a good career at UCLA, but gained more national recognition after a story came out about his pet alligator, Crocky J , who resides in his home in Indiana. His father gifted the alligator to Steele when he was a boy one Christmas.

While the gator won't be appearing on the field, Steele will continue to get more looks if he continues to shine when his number is called. The Chiefs will continue preseason play on Saturday when they host the Detroit Lions.
