Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to start the team's second preseason game against the Washington Commanders.

Tagovailoa will be in the game, but he will be without some of his biggest weapons: Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Terron Armstead, Aaron Brewer, and Jaylen Wright. Odell Beckham Jr. , signed during the offseason, remains on the PUP list so he is also unavailable.

It is an interesting decision to put Tua into the game without these players. Tua received a contract extension since the last time he played in Hard Rock Stadium. He has the full confidence of his head coach, Mike McDaniel.  The pair appear to have tremendous respect for each other which trickles over into a positive working relationship.

The Dolphins made the playoffs the past two seasons but want to be in the postseason conversation much longer this year.
