The Indianapolis Colts have plenty of questions regarding the tight end room as roster cuts loom in the coming days.

Though the picture became more clear following the long-term injury to Jelani Woods , the roles in the room will be divided between the remaining four players.

One of them figures to be second-year tight Will Mallory, who is coming off a strong showing during training camp and the preseason.

However, Mallory was surprisingly listed as a potential cut candidate for the Colts, according to David Kenyon of Bleacher Report .

"Mo Alie-Cox seemed vulnerable to a deadline cut because of his salary. However, the Colts are probably not moving him—or Kylen Granson, Drew Ogletree and Jelani Woods. Holding five tight ends on the 53-man roster seems unnecessary, so Will Mallory has a tough outlook," Kenyon wrote.

It was a bit surprising to see Kenyon's article published after the news dropped about Woods. Perhaps it was written beforehand and never changed.

Regardless, the injury to Woods clears the picture up immensely to the point where the four tight ends are essentially locks to make the roster.

Even if Woods hadn't gotten injured during the preseason finale, Mallory was still likely favored to make the roster over the former.

The Colts have until Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET to trim the roster down to 53 players.
