Raiders suggested as landing spot for veteran DB on the roster bubble

The Las Vegas Raiders and the other 31 NFL teams have begun to make final cuts as the Aug. 27, 4 p.m. ET deadline to shorten rosters to 53 players rapidly approaches.

Over the next day, free agency and the waiver wire will be filled with players who could be useful to the Raiders heading into the 2024 campaign. Las Vegas could use some depth in the cornerbacks, as the unit is one of the biggest question marks on the team, especially with the injury to Brandon Facyson.

Though he had an abysmal 2023 campaign, Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine believes Philadelphia Eagles cornerback/safety James Bradberry could be a player general manager Tom Telesco could target if the 31-year-old is let go by on Tuesday.

Bradberry might not be capable of being an outside cornerback anymore, but he put together a great 2022 campaign. That's enough to consider that he wasn't completely to blame for his struggles last season.

He could reunite with another former coach. Patrick Graham holds the defensive coordinator job in Las Vegas and Bradberry played for him with the New York Giants.

Bradberry isn't the same player he once was, but the former second-round pick would be a solid, versatile depth piece for the secondary. The 2020 pro bowler has played cornerback his entire career but made the switch to safety during the offseason.

With the Raiders' depth in the secondary being incredibly inexperienced and lackluster overall, Bradberry would be a low-risk, high-reward pickup. The former New York Giant already has some experience playing under Patrick Graham and could use a fresh start in a brand new environment.
