LSU Tigers have all-business attitude against USC Trojans in Las Vegas

It is Week 1 in college football. No. 13 LSU’s opponent is a storied program with a talented roster, the USC Trojans , ranked No. 23 in the country.

This is an important game for both teams. The Tigers are 0-4 in season openers since the 2019 season.

In 2023, LSU had the No. 1 offense in college football, led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels, who is now in the NFL.

Against USC, Garrett Nussmeier will be the starter at quarterback. Nussmeier stayed in LSU’s system and learned as Daniels’s backup, did not transfer, and waited for his turn. He will get his turn on Sunday. By all reports, Nussmeier is a highly capable quarterback with a high football I.Q.

LSU understands the importance of putting a “W” in the win column in this game.

In a game week interview, when asked about being a college kid going to Las Vegas, Preseason All-American offensive tackle Will Campbell said this, “That’s not what we’re there for, we’re there to play football. I’m not into all that other stuff. I’m only going to Vegas to play football, that’s the only time I will go to Vegas is to play football. Everybody knows we’re going there for one reason only. We aren’t going to Ceasars Palace, we’re going to whatever the stadium is to play USC.”
