The Kansas City Chiefs will begin their historic quest to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls. And while it's never been done before, it's hard to bet against a team that has played in four of the last five Super Bowls. One omen that may be a sign of good luck for the Chiefs (if you believe in that type of thing) is one NFL analyst's prediction ahead of kicking off the 2024 season.

Peter Schrager has correctly picked the last five Super Bowl winners. And on the Thursday edition of Good Morning Football , Schrager picked the Chiefs to defeat the Green Bay Packers.

"Eight different teams have tried [to three-peat]," Schrager said. "The '60s Packers won the first two Super Bowls, but after Lombardi stepped away, they couldn't win one more. The Steelers had the opportunity two different times in the '70s, but the came up short both times. The 49ers nearly did it in the late '80s, but they ran into a red-hot Giants team and lost in Candlestick. The '90s Cowboys, they won three of four, but they didn't win three straight. The Broncos got two, but not three. Then the Patriots came up short 20 years ago.

After the long soliloquy, Schrager unzipped his jacket to reveal a Patrick Mahomes jersey and says the Chiefs will pull off the "Chiefs-peat" and win their third straight Super Bowl.

If any team could pull off the seemingly impossible feat, it's this Chiefs team.
