Malik Willis slated to start against Tennessee Titans in Week 3 game

Just a few weeks after trading quarterback Malik Willis to the Green Bay Packers , the Tennessee Titans are slated to face their former third-round pick in a few weeks after Packers starter Jordan Love suffered a knee injury that will sideline him multiple games.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero , Love is dealing with an MCL injury that could keep him out anywhere from three to six weeks. The Titans will play the Packers in Nashville in Week 3.

Willis is the only healthy quarterback on the Packers' 53-man roster, and while the team will certainly add another, the Liberty product is slated to get the ball for now. Green Bay also has Sean Clifford on the practice squad.

Willis entered the Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles late in the fourth quarter but he only saw a few plays. Willis threw an incomplete pass and was sacked on the final down of the game.

The upcoming game against the Packers could get even more interesting if Green Bay decides to bring in veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill, which is certainly possible if the Packers don't think Willis can keep them afloat.

Tannehill remains available on the open market but has stated he would play in 2024 if it's the right situation.

"Right now, I think it's going to depend on situation," Tannehill said in July . "At this point, I've been blessed to play 12 years and be where I'm at, so I'm not just going to continue to add years to add years. I want to be in a situation that I feel really good about. I'm not ruling anything out, but it's going to have to be the right situation for me and my family."

The Packers would offer a good opportunity for the veteran quarterback, and for the sake of an awesome storyline, we'd love to see Green Bay bring him in. Either way, Week 3 just got a lot more interesting for the Titans.
