SPRING HOPE — If you build it, the timeless saying goes, they will come.

Such was the case this spring for youth baseball players in town, courtesy of a civic-minded effort to revamp the baseball complex at Spring Hope Elementary School.

“A few months back, some of the local baseball parents and coaches came to me about the condition of our ball field and that there were no games scheduled in SH,” Mayor Kyle Pritchard wrote in a recent Facebook post.

“Shortly after that meeting, our Spring Hope baseball field got a huge makeover thanks to the partnership between the town of Spring Hope, Edwards Inc., Nash County Parks & Recreation, Denton Heating & Air and the locally organized baseball community members.”

Among the capital improvements are fence-protected dugouts down the first and third-base lines, restored seating behind home plate and a high-rise scoreboard shadowing the fence in right field.

Game on, indeed.
