    PHOTOS: Police issue 47 violations, 16 tickets, recover stolen car in Springfield neighborhood

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield Police Department’s Ordinance Unit conducted a quality of life sweep on Wednesday, in the area of Orange and Oakland Streets.

    The initiative aims to enhance the living conditions for residents in the neighborhood.

    The sweep led to the issuance of 47 ordinance violations and 16 parking tickets. Additionally, officers towed two vehicles, one of which was stolen, while the other was unregistered.

    “These sweeps are an essential part of our ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life in Springfield,” said Captain Martin. “We will continue to conduct these operations throughout the spring and summer to address common ordinance issues and ensure a safe environment for our residents.”
