Cal NIL collective posts football billboards in ACC country
For those of you unfamiliar with the California Legends Collective, they have been hard at work raising NIL (name, image and likeness) funds to ensure our student-athletes get the resources they need to feel like they are properly taken care of in Berkeley. That led to both Cal football and men’s basketball posting top 20 classes in the transfer portal, as the Bears rebuilt their roster to hopefully compete at the highest level in the ACC.
The biggest questions for Duke, UNC and NC State ahead of ACC football media days
In just over a month, ACC football will kick off in Ireland, with Florida State and Georgia Tech opening the 2024 season in Dublin. Before games start Aug. 24, the ACC’s 17 teams will head to Charlotte for a four-day media event as part of ACC Kickoff, which will be televised Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the ACC Network.
Jon Gallagher scores late to rally Austin to 2-2 draw with Charlotte
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Defender Jon Gallagher scored late in the second half and Austin FC rallied for a 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC on Saturday night. Gallagher used assists from Alex Ring and Diego Rubio in the 80th minute to score his second goal of the season for Austin (8-10-7). Ring's assist was his sixth this season and Rubio's was his first.

Carolina Gets OT Win Over Maryland
The Carolina Chaos took on the Maryland Whipsnakes in the second Friday matchup of the PLL’s Week 6 slate in Fairfield, Connecticut. Carolina was coming off what was effectively a two-week bye, as they did not play in Week 5 before the All-Star break. With a 2-3 record, the Chaos were just one game behind the Utah Archers for the West Conference lead. Maryland, meanwhile, were also 2-3, good for third place in the East but looking to separate themselves from the last place Philadelphia Waterdogs, who lost earlier in the evening.
Plethora of Wolves Athletes Earn NJCAA Academic Achievement
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced the All-Academic Teams for the 2023-24 school year on Thursday, July 18. Co-Lin had 69 athletes earn spots across the three All-Academic Teams. The Co-Lin Golf team saw all six athletes earn a spot across the three teams while the Co-Lin Men's and Women's Tennis teams have a combined 16 players across the teams with seven for the men and nine for the women. The Co-Lin Football and Softball team represent the most athletes across the teams with 13 each while the Women's Soccer team was right behind them with 12 athletes honored. For the fourth-straight year, Co-Lin has set a new school record for the number of athletes honored with the 69 athletes to receive the award from the NJCAA this year.
