Stony Brook University & the Simons Foundation named recipient of 2024 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award
Stony Brook University and the Simons Foundation were recently named recipients of the Insight Into Diversity magazine 2024 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award. Insight Into Diversity is the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. The Inspiring Programs in STEM Award honors colleges and universities that encourage and assist students from underrepresented groups to enter the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Stony Brook University and the Simons Foundation will be featured, along with 82 other recipients, in the September 2024 issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine.

Four houses proposed at site of former Spring Hill Road animal rescue
MONROE, CT — Neighbors of the SPCA of Connecticut Animal Shelter railed against the facility at 359 Spring Hill Road when it first opened in the early 2000s, but the dog kennels were a grandfathered use. The owner, Frederick Acker, fought with town officials over the number of dogs allowed on the property over the years and, due to financial woes, the shelter closed down for good last year.

RJ Gordon is the son of Jason Gordon, a professional golfer. He attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, in his first three years of high school before transferring to West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch, California, in his senior year. He lettered twice at Notre Dame and in his one year at West Ranch.
