Port Matilda, Pa. — Staff and state police troopers were the alleged target of a man who was denied VIP access at a State College gentleman’s club.

Richard Garland Jones, 27, of Columbia Crossroads allegedly fought staff members and officers at The END ZONE Show, 100 Lion Lane, according to Officer Jeremey Pollick. Employees called 911 after Jones and Jose Anthony Borges were turned away from the VIP area, Pollick added.

Borges and Jones allegedly punched several employees during the scuffle, which began when the men tried to enter the VIP area without paying for it, employees told police. When state police arrived, they took Borges and Jones outside, according to the complaint.

Staff claimed the men hit them and damaged a computer, cash register, and phone during an interview with police. Borges and Jones were heavily intoxicated, according to the witnesses. Jones allegedly yelled “I’m from Philly, we don’t f**k around” during the altercation.

Troopers went outside to speak with Jones, who continued to argue and resist, according to Corporal Jeremy Pollick. Jones was handcuffed and moved to the front seat of a cruiser, but continued to kick at troopers, Pollick said. Two were injured as they attempted to control Jones, Pollick added.

Jones was eventually removed from the car and taken to the ground by troopers, according to the complaint. He was warned about being tased if he continued to resist, Pollick said. Jones was then stunned twice by troopers as he continued to fight them, Pollick wrote in the affidavit.

Jones is being charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, harassment, and disorderly conduct. He is being held on $35,000 monetary bail at the Centre County Prison. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on July 24.

No charges were listed for Borges.
