Adult Male Arrested In Connection With Takoma Park Hit-and-Run Fatal Collision
Suspect charged with failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving death. Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) have arrested and charged 34-year-old Efrain Diaz Romero, of Silver Spring, with the death of 42-year-old Candido Noe Rojas Rojas, who died in a fatal hit-and-run collision on Monday, June 3, 2024.
Virginia Girl Scouts help sew heart-shaped pillows for cancer patients | Get Uplifted
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A group of young women doing their part to spread joy and healing is helping us get uplifted. Back in April we featured volunteers who have gathered to sew heart-shaped pillows for some hospital patients. For nearly a decade, volunteers from the Woodbridge Women's Club have gotten together to craft pillows for cancer and surgery patients at the Sentara Cancer Network Resource Center in Woodbridge.

New ‘ALX Closet’ opens to provide emergency resources to Alexandria families in need
Alexandria families in an emergency or a crisis now have a one-stop shop for children’s clothing, basic necessities and more. Local nonprofits The Center for Alexandria’s Children and The Fund for Alexandria’s Child is opening ALX Closet, a new resource center dedicated to helping Alexandria’s children and families get access to necessities in times of need. No charges after crowbar attack and stabbing puts Alexandria brothers in hospital
No charges have been filed against two Alexandria brothers who were hospitalized with serious injuries after a fight in the West End earlier this month. The Alexandria Police Department responded to a stabbing call for service at an apartment in the 500 block of N. Armistead Street on Sunday, July 7. Police arrived and found the brothers on the floor of the apartment, according to a recently released search warrant affidavit.
