The St. Michael Mike’s Post 567 American Legion baseball team had themselves a nice easy week. They played just one game on June 25 against Stillwater. They had a game scheduled for June 26 but it was postponed.

They hosted Stillwater and sent them home with a loss. St. Michael scored two runs in the first, another in the second and put four on the board in the fifth. Stillwater managed just one run on four hits.

Noah Miller led off the game with a walk and stole second. Drew Luster wasted no time and sent the first strike he saw over the left field wall for a two-run homer. They scored again in the third on a nicely executed double steal. Ryan Williamson stole second, which allowed Lincoln Tangen to scamper home for a run.

Williamson led off the fifth with a walk and advanced to second on Miller’s single. Drew Luster’s two-run RBI double scored Williamson and Miller as the lead increased to 5-0. With one out. Ryan Luster’s RBI double scored Drew. Ryan stole home later that inning for a 7-0 lead.

Stillwater scored their only run of the game on a wild pitch during the top of the seventh.

Ryley Wuebkers (W) started the game on the mound for St. Michael and struck out five in five innings. Zack Pribyl struck out one over two innings in relief.

St. Michael (7-1) played a doubleheader against Totino-Grace on Monday, after press deadline. They don’t play again until Monday, July 8 against Eden Prairie.
