#7 Newell Fonda Volleyball Downs St. Mary's
The 7th-ranked in Class 1A Newell Fonda volleyball team won in straight sets on their home floor Thursday over Storm Lake St. Mary's. The Mustangs never trailed in any of the sets. They ended the opener on a 13-0 run on their way to a final of 25-8. Newell Fonda built a 22-12 lead in the second set, before the Panthers came roaring back with a 6-1 run to get within 23-18. Newell Fonda regroup after a timeout and scored two straight points to go up two sets to none. An 11-0 start propeled them to a 25-7 victory in the third set. Read more
