Nelly to headline Late Night at the Phog at KU
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly will headline the 40th Annual Late Night in the Phog on Friday, Oct. 18, at Allen Fieldhouse. Nelly’s hits include “Ride Wit Me,“ “Hot in Herre,” “Air Force Ones” and “Country Grammar.” He’s also had successful collaborations, like the chart-topping hit “Over and Over” with Tim McGraw.

Lyon County Commission approves disaster donation MOUs, final Ignite Emporia allocation
Lyon County now has two memorandums of understanding in place to handle donations and related information in cases of disasters. As part of the County Commission’s action session Thursday, Lyon County Emergency Management Director Jarrod Fell presented the idea for the county to partner with the Emporia Community Foundation and the United Way of the Flint Hills. Fell says this has been part of recent conversations through the county’s Local Emergency Planning Committee.
Second Flint Hills Spirit Fair set for Saturday
One of Emporia’s community activities this weekend is all about the supernatural. The second annual Flint Hills Spirit Fair will be held at the Lyon County History Center on Saturday. Labette County Fair Starts Tomorrow
The Labette County Fair starts this weekend in Oswego. Starting tomorrow, the horse show performance will kick things off at 8 a.m. On Sunday, the dog show takes place at 11 a.m. followed by the pony pull at 2 p.m. Events will take place all next week as the fair will continue through next Saturday. Some additional highlights include the rodeo on Tuesday and Wednesday night, Bull riding on Friday and the demo derby on Saturday. All events take place at the Labette County Fairgrounds in Oswego, and coming up on Tuesday, we'll have fair organizers on for a preview of events during Open Line at 9:10 a.m.

Update 9:49 a.m.: The Osage County Sheriff’s Office says the fuel truck was a 2017 Peterbilt carrying 3,500 gallons of diesel. On Thursday morning, July 18, 2024, at 6:41 AM, a law enforcement officer with the Pittsburg Police Department observed a vehicle that was not displaying any state issued license plates turn onto Amber Drive. The Officer turned his patrol vehicle around to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle and the vehicle pulled into the driveway of 1011 Amber Drive. The driver exited the vehicle and quickly entered the residence and closed the door behind him. Further investigation into the vehicle revealed it had been reported stolen out of Joplin, Missouri.
