A new, authentic Vietnamese restaurant serves pho, banh mi, bahn bao and boba. It also offers sesame balls for dessert. Boba, also known as bubble tea or milk tea, is made with tapioca pearls. Read the full story.
Cat cafe sells food, coffee
The Treasure Coast's second cat cafe sells premade foods, such as mini eclairs, charcuterie boxes and cranberry pecan chicken salad. An entertainment establishment has opened its 11th location in Florida, the first on the Treasure Coast, in a nearly 25,000-square-foot building that can accommodate up to 1,300 people. The menu features appetizers, entrees, desserts and cocktails. Read the full story.
American-style sushi chain opens location
Rock ‘N’ Roll Sushi, a national chain of self-described American-style sushi has opened its first location on the Treasure Coast on June 10 at 2620 S.E. Federal Highway in Stuart, the former location of Moe's Southwest Grill.
CLOSED RESTAURANTS
Fast-casual vegan, vegetarian
A new fast-casual restaurant with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options that opened its first location on the Treasure Coast last year closed in November. It still has locations in the U.S. and on Florida's west coast. Read the full story.
Southwest grill chain closes location
Moe’s Southwest Grill permanently closed its Stuart location effective Jan. 1 this year and was replaced by Rock ‘N’ Roll Sushi. Its Facebook page recommended visiting the Moe’s location in Port St. Lucie in St. Lucie West.
