Panther Football Camp Begins On August 5th
With the football season just under a month and a half away, the Panthers will start to prepare for action with the Panorama High School Football Camp. From August 5th through the 8th, Panther athletes from 9-12th grade will come together to practice, lift and even share meals together in preparation for the football season. Players are asked to bring the essentials everyday, including: multiple sets of clothes, football gear, lifting shoes, water bottles, and any other useful equipment that may be needed. With paintballing as one of the team activities, waivers will be sent home to families and must be brought back to participate before the activities. This years camp cost $75 per person, and will include: five meals, snacks, Gatorade, paint-balling, swimming, and the Central Iowa Football Camp.
AC and GC school boards approve meal price increases
On July 17, a joint meeting of the Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center school boards was held at the ACGC Junior High Media Center. The boards discussed meal prices for the upcoming school year. Superintendent Josh Rasmussen explained that he had prepared some calculations, and he shared his recommended prices. He said he recommends no changes to registration costs this year. Lindsay Dinkla said she feels it makes sense for high school lunch to be higher than at the other two schools since more is offered, such as salad bar. The boards closely followed Rasmussen’s recommendations, with Adair-Casey voting to approve $1.75 for breakfast and $2.70 for lunch. Guthrie Center approved $2 for breakfast, $3 for elementary lunch, $3.10 for high school lunch, and $4.85 for adult lunch.
