On June 30, Vallejo police successfully extricated a domestic violence victim and her child from a perilous situation. Responding to an emergency call, the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) was informed that a woman was being forcibly held inside her Maher Court residence by armed suspect Cordell Shaw. According to the VPD statement posted on Facebook, Shaw had kidnapped the victim and had brandished a firearm, using both threats and physical violence to prevent her escape.

FAIRFIELD, California — A minor was detained after allegedly discarding an unregistered firearm from a vehicle window while speeding past a police officer, authorities said. On June 26, 2024, a patrol officer observed a 2017 Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed near Tennessee Street and Colusa Street, according to a press release from the Fairfield Police Department. The officer pursued the vehicle for several blocks before it turned onto Marin Street and subsequently onto Indiana Street. During the pursuit, the officer saw the driver throw a firearm out of the driver's window.
