Council to vote July 22 on judicial personnel request
At its business meeting July 22, the Lynnwood City Council is scheduled to vote on a request from Municipal Court Judge Valerie Bouffiou to create a new position to handle photo-enforced citations. Bouffiou requested the position at last week’s council work session, saying that rising levels of tickets and a growing backlog necessitated the position.
Scene in Edmonds: Git Hoan Dancers
This Sunday’s Edmonds Concert in the Park was a City Park performance by the Git Hoan Dancers (People of the Salmon). Based in Lynnwood, Git Hoan showcases the magnificence of Tsimshian art, from masks and costumes to song, dance and storytelling. It was a display of music, costumes and dances that represented a culture of Alaskan native people, the Tsimshian Tribe from Metlakatla, Alaska. You can learn on the Git Hoan Dancers here.
Final 2024 Meet Me at the Park event at South Lynnwood Park July 16
The final of three Meet Me at the Park events sponsored by the City of Lynnwood is scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at South Lynnwood Park, 20915 61st Ave. W. Local nonprofit agencies will visit Lynnwood parks across the city this summer to provide information about their no-cost or low-cost services, resources and programs. The park visits will have free, fun activities for kids. Due to parking constraints, event organizers encourage attendees to walk or bike.
