LC4 looking to get dogs back to their homes during holiday weekend
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Lucas County Canine Care and Control (LC4) has deemed a stretch of the holiday week ‘Fido Freedom Days,’ to help get stray dogs back to their homes. During the Fourth of July, animal shelters tend to see a rise in stray dogs getting scared from the fireworks, the organization said. From July 2-6, Lucas County Canine Care & Control is waiving impound fees for any dogs that are brought in.

City of Toledo to hold free disposal day Saturday
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The City of Toledo will be hosting a free disposal day along with block-by-block bulk pick-up events Saturday. The free disposal day will be held at the Hoffman Road Landfill. The block-by-block pick-up will take place throughout the Junction and Englewood neighborhoods from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Toledo ranks near bottom of another national study
Recent WalletHub studies have not been kind to Toledo or Ohio in general. In May, a study showed Toledo to be among the nation’s most unhealthy cities. That same month, another study showed Ohio carrying one of the nation’s highest student debt loads followed by a June study that showed Ohio’s economy ranked near the bottom.
