Police: Robbery suspect attempts to hide from officers, who pursue him through north Toledo
TOLEDO, Ohio — A suspect indicted in an aggravated robbery is facing additional charges after allegedly leading police on a foot pursuit in north Toledo Wednesday afternoon. A Toledo police sergeant, who works as a part of the Gang Task Force, said in the report he observed 34-year-old Ramone Mosby - whom he recognized - attempting to hide after seeing officers. Police said they were able to learn Mosby had five open warrants, including aggravated robbery, and began to look for him.
Great Lakes singer-songwriter Pat Dailey dies at 83
PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — Pat Dailey, a celebrated Great Lakes singer-songwriter, died Wednesday in his Bay Village, Ohio, home. He was 83. He died “peacefully” overnight, his son Reese Dailey wrote Thursday in a Facebook post. The cause of death was not reported. With his entertaining mix of romantic ballads, bawdy tunes, and party songs, Mr. Dailey has been a fixture at the party island of Put-in-Bay since 1978, packing the crowds at the mammoth Beer Barrel until moving to the more intimate Boathouse Bar in 2007. Since 1984 and until his retirement in 2018, Mr. Dailey was a regular in winter at Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West.
Toledo ranks near bottom of another national study
Recent WalletHub studies have not been kind to Toledo or Ohio in general. In May, a study showed Toledo to be among the nation’s most unhealthy cities. That same month, another study showed Ohio carrying one of the nation’s highest student debt loads followed by a June study that showed Ohio’s economy ranked near the bottom.
