Teen shot in central Toledo Thursday
TOLEDO, Ohio — A teenager was injured Thursday afternoon after a shooting in central Toledo that also struck multiple homes and a vehicle. According to a Toledo police report, officers received a ShotSpotter alert indicating 14 shots had been fired in the 400 block of West Delaware Avenue around 1 p.m. Crews responded to the area, where they located a scene and evidence; at the same time, they were informed by dispatch that a local hospital had received a walk-in gunshot wound victim.
Bowling Green men's basketball player, assistant coach to square off in Olympic qualifier
An assistant coach and a current player both with the Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team will square off against each other, playing for their respective countries on Saturday in a FIBA men’s Olympic qualification tournament semifinal. Lourawls Nairn, Jr., an assistant coach with BGSU and player for the Bahamas national team, will meet junior forward Youssef Khayat and Lebanon at the Pavello Municipal Font de Sant Lluís in Valencia, Spain. Both countries advanced out of the preliminary group round, and Saturday’s winner will meet the Finland-Spain winner in the championship game. The tournament winner will advance to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Bahamas defeated Finland and Poland to win its group, while Lebanon lost to Spain but defeated Angola by four points to advance. Khayat had nine points and six rebounds in a starting role in the Angola win.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The city of Lima and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources teaming up to teach area kids the art of fishing. Through the ODNR grant program, the annual "Youth Fishing Derby" saw parents teaching their children and kids teaching each other how to fish. Each child was provided bait and a fishing pole to keep. Local organizations and businesses sponsored a variety of prizes to give out to the kids, and the derby is a fun and relaxing way to learn the basics of casting, baiting, and removing a fish from the hook.
