Kentucky State Police investigating murder in Marshall County
POSSUM TROT, Ky. (KFVS) - Kentucky State Police Post 1 is investigating a murder in Marshall County after locating a deceased man with a gunshot wound. Around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, KSP Post 1 received a call from the US Forestry Service regarding an abandoned vehicle that was located in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

Two people arrested; accused of squatting in a Mayfield, Ky. home
MAYFIELD, Ky. (KFVS) - Alleged squatters have been taken into custody after police found them with illegal drugs inside a home in Mayfield, Kentucky. According to the Mayfield Police Department, officers received information that a man and woman were trespassing in a home and using drugs. When they arrived, officers found 42-year-old Jeffrey King and 31-year-old Jodi Compau inside.

Suspect Arrested in Pryorsburg for Methamphetamine Distribution
PRYORSBURG, Ky. (News First) — Murray Jordan Akers was located and arrested in Pryorsburg on charges of selling crystal methamphetamine in the Pryorsburg and Wingo areas. A more detailed release will follow at a later date. Earlier reports indicated that Akers had not been located. He was wanted for a parole violation and warrants for contempt of court for non-violent offenses.
Mayfield Police Weekly Activity
On 06/28/2024, Mayfield Police Department Officers received information of a male and female trespassing in a residence. Officers also received information of illegal drugs being used by the squatters. Officers went to the residence, and made contact with Jeffrey King, age 42 of Boaz, KY and Jodi Compau, age 31 of Mayfield. Officers conducted a sweep of the residence, on the request of the owner, to make sure nobody else was inside. During the protective sweep of the residence, evidence of illegal drugs were observed. Officers secured the residence and all subjects involved. A search warrant was sought, and later executed on the residence. Jeffrey King was placed under arrest, and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle- 1st Offense, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License, Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance/ Securities- 1st Offense, Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 3rd or Greater Offense (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jodi Compau was placed under arrest, and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jeffrey King and Jodi Compau were transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, and turned over to the Graves County Jail. Jeffrey King was lodged in Calloway County, and Jodi Compau was lodged in Marshall County.

Mayfield man jailed on drug charges
A Mayfield man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Marshall County Thursday. The Marshall County Sheriff's Office said 41 year old Richard Heard's vehicle was stopped on Gilbertsville Highway at Cirrito Lane. Heard was charged with possession of a controlled substance and other traffic offenses.
Two vehicle accident reported in Mayfield
A two-vehicle accident occured Thursday morning in Mayfield. Mayfield police said the crash occurred at the intersection of Blacksburg Road and Dick Castleman Bypass. Investigators said a vehicle driven by 62 year old Gracie Litchfield of Murray collided with a vehicle operated by 57 year old Carla Williams of Mayfield.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office searching for vape theft suspect
PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding an ongoing burglary investigation. According to the sheriff’s office, the burglary took place at around 1 a.m. on Monday, June 24, and again at around 2:25 a.m. on Thursday, June 27. In both instances, a male suspect forced entry into “Vapors 4 U” located at 5320 Hinkleville Road in Paducah, and removed vape items from the business.
