Resignation of assistant principal accepted by board
SPRING LAKE — The Spring Lake Board of Education accepted the resignation of Assistant Principal and Supervisor of Student Services Natalie Levine at the Monday, Sept. 30 board of education. Levine’s last day in the district will be Friday, Nov. 29. Last week on Sept. 25, Levine submitted her notice of resignation to the board of education, stating that she will be leaving H.W.
Superintendent presents ‘23-‘24 test scores
BELMAR — The Belmar Board of Education last Thursday heard its annual presentation on the prior year’s testing scores, which broadly showed improvements in language arts and math The presentation examined how Belmar Elementary School’s (BES) students performed compared to the average of the state of New Jersey. Superintendent Jimmy Alvarez first presented the results of the state ACCESS assessments, which are administered to ELL (English language learner) students to measure their proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English.
High School Cadets Climb Stairs To Honor 9/11 Heroes
BRICK – This past September 11, high school cadets climbed hundreds of flights of stairs to honor those who risked their lives 23 years ago. Brick Memorial High School hosted its inaugural 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Challenge, an homage to the first responders who bravely put their lives on the line during the September 11 attacks.
Toms River teacher paycheck deductions funding lawsuit against NJ
TOMS RIVER — Faculty and staff are being asked to help with the district's legal battle against the state over school funding. The Toms River Regional School District Board of Education announced in July it would file a lawsuit after a $137 million cut for the 2024-25 academic year left the district with a $26.5 million deficit.
