Neosho County Unemployment Rate Rises to 4% in February 2024
The state of Kansas and Neosho County both saw unemployment increases during February 2024. The jobless rate for Neosho County in February was 4%, up from 3.4% recorded in January. Of the 6,124 people eligible to work, 5,881 had jobs and 243 did not.Visit here for more details.

CRDA Celebrates 13 Years of Success at Annual Dinner, Highlights $250M Investment in Chanute
On Tuesday, the Chanute Regional Development Authority (CRDA) held their annual dinner with current and past board members to reflect on the projects and programming of 2023 and to celebrate successes over the past 13 years. Executive Director Bailey Schwegman shared accomplishments and statistical data since the CRDA’s inception. Neosho County Voters Select Trump, Biden in Kansas Presidential Primary
Mirroring statewide results, Republican voters selected Donald Trump and Democratic voters picked Joe Biden as nominees for each respective party in the Kansas Presidential Primary in Neosho County. According to unofficial election results from the Neosho County Elections Office, former President Donald Trump received 432 votes. Nikki Haley, former governor of South Carolina and U.N. ambassador, had 72 while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis received 18. Five votes went to Ryan L. The America Legion Riders of Post 170 again is offering pavers engraved at the Chanute Area Veterans Memorial on South Santa Fe next to the ball fields. Since it was built each year the legion has offered two engraving times, one to be complete for Memorial Day and the other for Veterans Day.
