Knolls loses in Battle for First Place
DENVILLE, NJ – Mishel Kurt scored the only goal of the game as Morris Knolls lost a 1-0 decision to Mount Olive in a high school field hockey battle played at Knolls between the two leaders in the North Jersey Athletic Conference’s National Division.The loss was the first of the season in the division for the Lady Eagles while Mount Olive remained unbeaten in division play. SPARTA, NJ –The Sparta High School football game on Friday night seemed to be two different games; the first half and the second half. The Spartans beat the Vernon Vikings 30-13 under the lights on Cassels field.The first half was a battle between two teams who each started with three consecutive wins. Morristown Football Fell to Mount Olive 49-35
MOUNT OLIVE, NJ - The Morristown football team lost to Mount Olive 49-35 on Friday night. The Colonials dropped to 2-3 on the season. Mount Olive was leading by 28 heading into the half. The Colonials scored 21 points in the third. NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team swept Vernon 5-1 when they played them away on Thursday, September 26.The Braves scored two goals in the first quarter and three more goals in the second quarter. DENVILLE, NJ – The Morris Knolls High School boys soccer team – with hat-trick help from senior Matthew Klingener – handed Sparta its first loss of the season, a 3-0 decision in a morning match played on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Knolls.Sparta entered the game with a 6-0-1 record and in first place in the North Jersey Athletic Conference’s National Division with a 5-0-1 mark.
