Dripping Springs Tigers top Georgetown East View Patriots
Tiger Dominic Hurley (No. 16) rounds third base after hitting a homerun over the centerfield fence with two runners on board at the Keith Tuck Memorial Baseball Tournament at Tiger Field last weekend. He was congratulated by head coach Chris Payne (No. 22). The Tigers finished strong with a 8-4 win over the Georgetown East View High School Patriots on Saturday, March 9. The next home game is slated for Monday, March 18, when the Tigers will host Johnson High School.
Dripping Springs golfer plays at ProAm Phoenix Open
, Alex Charlton, graduate of Dripping Springs High School and lead golfer for the years 2011 to 2014, was selected to represent his employer Taylor Morrison Homes in the ProAm tournament at the Waste Management Phoenix Open on February 5, 2024. Charlton’s team consisted of PGA Pro, Dylan Wu, and three executives from Taylor Morrison. The team finished fourth in the field of thirty teams from all over the country. His caddie, Nick Pierce, is also a resident of Dripping Springs. Taylor Morrison is a major sponsor of the PGA event. The company has a large presence in Austin and in outlying areas as a leader in new residential construction.
Lady Tigers win in 10 innings

Track team competes at Tiger, Johnson relays
Recently, the Tiger Relays, a long time staple, has had to face unfriendly weather, but this has not kept the meet nor the competition from taking place. This year, a cold wind persisted all day. Softball team surges
The Dripping Springs softball team had another busy week when they opened the week by pounding Austin High in the district opener 17-2. The rest of the week they were hosting the Brittany Tuck Memorial tourney. They dropped their first two games to Barbers Hill 4-1 and SA O'Connor 5-2. After that they righted the ship by defeating Cedar Park 9-1, Sinton 4-0, Hays 4-3, and NB Canyon 11-6. The season has reached another milestone for Coach Wade Womack at Dripping Springs. The late Coach Keith Tuck set the standard for DS in his nine-years with 261 wins. Dripping Springs lacrosse: a family of fighters
Every team forms its own identity. After rough off-season circumstances, the 2023–2024 Dripping Springs High School Lacrosse team has become something special. Led by head coach Bill Cafferata, this team’s identity was on full display this week: a family of fighters who sacrifice, cheer, challenge and give everything they have for one another, both in practice and down to the final second of every game. DSHS wrestler takes state title
Dripping Springs High School senior wrestler Alec Rill captured a state title in the 215 weight class on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the UIL 6A State Wrestling Tournament in Cypress. Rill became just the fourth wrestler in school history to win a state championship, following Jonah Ribera (2013), Luke Hodsden (2015, 2016) and Chase Warden (2019, 2020). He is also just the fourth DSHS wrestler to place in at least three state tournaments after finishing third as a junior and fifth as a sophomore. The first day of spring isn’t until March 19, but things are already heating up in central Texas for Dripping Springs High School Lacrosse. Drip Lacrosse dealt Debbie Downers to all three teams they played last week, winning by a combined score of 43-16. Tuesday, Feb. 20, Drip opened the season for Austin’s St. Andrews High School, winning 20-10. Friday, Feb. 23, at home, they dominated a winless Bowie High School, 18-2. Lady Tigers begin softball season
Sports seasons have short life spans once the actual playing begins, and softball is no different. Coaches have to cram in their tourney and practice games among district games to get the number they want to play. Some of that will be eased next year when Dripping Springs High School goes back to a seventeam district. The DSHS Lady Tigers, one of the favorites in the district, are in the middle of that.
