Local Educators Shine: Clemson's Creative Inquiry Program Awards Top Mentors
The Creative Inquiry program recently recognized two mentors for their significant roles in guiding research among students. Angela Alexander-Bryant, an associate professor of bioengineering, was awarded the Phil and Mary Bradley Faculty Award for Mentoring in Creative Inquiry. Since her start in the program in 2018, she has mentored over 55 undergraduates on projects including image-guided drug delivery and nanobiomaterials for cancer therapy. She not only provides technical guidance but also supports her students' academic and professional growth.
Clemson Legacy Continues: Helena Harte Awarded Prestigious Norris Medal for 2024
Helena Harte, a recent Clemson University graduate, has been awarded the Norris Medal as the top student of the Class of 2024. This award recognizes outstanding academic and leadership achievements. Established in 1908, the Norris Medal honors its recipients with their names displayed on a bronze plaque in the Hendrix Student Center.

'You support genocide': Clemson University students hold protest against stance on Israel
At least 40 demonstrators, mostly Clemson University students, sat outside of Sikes Hall on Saturday to demand the university disclose its investments in Israel and stance on the latest Israel-Hamas war. Clemson University to Open New Veterinary College in 2026, Boosting Local Vet Education and Services
Clemson University is preparing to establish its first College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), aiming to enhance veterinary education in South Carolina. The new college will be located near Clemson’s Experimental Forest and is currently in the final planning stages. The faculty and staff are being expanded, and the curriculum for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree program has been approved by the Board of Trustees. Dean Marks noted that the college is expected to open in Fall 2026, pending accreditation.
