Where Clemson ranks in On3’s post-spring Top 25 College Football Rankings
Heading into the 2024 college football season, Clemson’s rankings are quite varied. In some post-spring rankings, the Tigers are comfortably within the Top 15. In others, they’re outside the Top 15 due to questions about their potential and their minimal activity in the transfer portal. This inconsistency is just part of sports’ unpredictability. Initially, most rankings I’ve seen have the Tigers just outside the Top 15, but the most recent rankings we’ve seen have had Clemson as high as Top 10. The latest update comes from On3, who ranked Clemson No. 13 in the country, just outside the Top 12. The Tigers’ claim to the No. 2 spot in the post-spring, post-portal...
Clemson learns of regional visitors
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Tigers were selected to the NCAA Tournament as the No. 6 national seed and No. 1 seed in the Clemson (S.C.) Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers (41-14) face No. 4 seed High Point (34-25) in their opening game Friday at 7pm, while No. 2 seed Vanderbilt (38-21) and No. 3 […]
Clemson to face SEC team in final Field of 64 projections
The final Field of 64 projections for the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament were unveiled by D1Baseball and Baseball America Monday morning. While Clemson (41-14 overall) remained a top-eight national seed (No. 6 overall), there was a change in which teams the Tigers will draw at their on-site regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. D1Baseball now sees SEC Tournament runner-up and reigning national champion LSU visiting Doug Kingsmore Stadium for the four-team, double-elimination Clemson Regional. The Bayou Bengals have been on a tear of late, winning seven straight contests before falling 4-3 in Sunday’s SEC Tournament finale against consensus projected No. 1 overall seed Tennessee. LSU...
LSU baseball heading to Clemson Regional as No. 2 seed in latest On3 bracketology
The LSU baseball team has the chance to lock up a guaranteed NCAA Tournament bid on Sunday as it faces Tennessee in the SEC Tournament championship game. Regardless of the outcome in that one, the Tigers have all but secured a bid with a 4-0 showing in Hoover to this point. Most projections have LSU completely off the bubble, and many even have them up to the No. 2 seed line. On3’s Jonathan Wagner concurred in his latest tournament projections, sending coach Jay Johnson’s team to No. 6 national seed Clemson’s regional as the No. 2 seed, along with James Madison and High Point. Even with a win on Sunday, a regional host spot is likely out of the question for the Tigers. But they should have no problem cracking the field, and it seems likely to be as a No. 2 seed. Tigers avoid Gamecocks in Sunday morning Field of 64 tournament projections
Anyone hoping to avoid Clemson vs. South Carolina in the regional round of the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament may be in luck. The new postseason Field of 64 projections from both D1Baseball and Baseball America Sunday morning see the Tigers (41-14 overall) missing the Gamecocks (36-23) in the on-site Clemson Regional. D1Baseball forecasts South Carolina to be in the Chapel Hill Regional as one of the three teams joining projected No. 3 national seed North Carolina. Baseball America sees the Gamecocks in a projected Raleigh Regional that includes NC State, the projected No. 10 seed and host site. Clemson is still the No....
Clemson rallies past Louisville
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jimmy Obertop’s walkoff walk with one out in the ninth inning lifted No. 3 Clemson to an 8-7 victory over Louisville in the ACC Tournament at Truist Field on Friday afternoon. The Tigers, who went 1-1 in the ACC Tournament, improved to 41-14 on the season. The Cardinals, who went 0-2 in […]
