County W to undergo ditching on Tuesday
The Price County Highway Department will begin ditching at various locations on County Highway W on Tuesday, May 14, according to a press release. The work will start at Birch Hill Road, and end 12 miles west at Forest Lane in the town of Elk. County Highway W will be reduced to one lane in the work zone from 6:30 a.m. until the work is completed, which is estimated to be around 3:30 p.m.

PHILLIPS — The defendant in a libel suit filed by Price County Sheriff Brian Schmidt has released his legal counsel and will represent himself, according to records filed at Price County Circuit Court. Appointed Circuit Court Judge Knox-Bauer granted an order on May 2 to allow attorney Paul Augustyn, of O’Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C., to withdraw as counsel of record for Brylski. Migratory songbirds are now returning to Price County from their wintery grounds in Central and South America. Prentice students were named third place and honorable mention winners of Wisconsin’s Seventh District 2024 Congressional Art Competition, according to a May 2 press release from the office of U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-WI. Al Reszel started riding his bike north from the Florida Keys on March 23, to kick off his seventh cross-country journey and solo bicycle ride in support of his wife Terry, a breast cancer survivor. The Wisconsin Builders Association is reporting single-family construction has increased 36% in the first quarter of 2024. Price County has a 40% increase with 14 new home starts from January through March which compares to 10 new starts for the same period in 2023, according to an April 29 press release.
